Allergy Free Chewy Oatmeal Cookies

My kids hates raisins, but not in these cookies. I couldn’t stop my kids from eating them. They are soft, chewy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • • 1/2 cup (1 stick) DF Margarine
  • • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • • 2/3 cup sugar
  • • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • • 2 tsp baking powder
  • • 1 tsp baking soda
  • • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • • 1/2 tsp salt
  • • 3 cups of oats
  • • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • • 1 cup raisins
  • • 2 tsp vanilla
  • • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Gluten Free option
  • • Substitute 1 1/4 cup of Gluten Free All Purpose Flour (tested with Bob Redmill) +1/2 tsp Xantham Gum for 1 1/4 all purpose flour
  • • Make sure the Oats are Gluten Free

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350
  2. Place the raisins in a bowl of water and set aside
  3. Combine the DF margarine with the sugars
  4. Add applesauce, vanilla, and vinegar to the mixture
  5. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and oats
  6. Add to the sugar mixture and mix until a dough forms
  7. Drain the raisins and add to the dough
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes
