Allergy Free Waffles

Yield: 8 to 10 waffles

These waffles are so easy to make and most of the ingredients are in your kitchen cabinets. The flaxseed mixture replaces the egg. It needs to sit for five minutes until it combines in order to work similar to an egg. Top these off with your favorite fruit or dairy free whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 6 tbsp hot water
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cup dairy free milk
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Gluten Free Option
  • Replace 2 cups gluten free all purpose flour and 2 tsp Xanthan gum for 2 cups all purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat and grease a waffle iron
  2. Mix flaxseed and hot water and let sit for 5 minutes
  3. Combine flour, milk, applesauce, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla
  4. Add in flaxseed mixture
  5. Mix well
  6. Pour the batter onto the griddle
  7. Cook until golden brown (around 5 minutes depending on your waffle iron)
